What happened to Firetec? Extinguisher needs recharging!

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Fronkjunior, Jan 21, 2020.

  1. Hi, I have a Firetec fire suppression system in my engine bay. The gauge is showing the pressure is in the red, below 9 bar. I assume it needs recharging. I contacted www.firetec.uk but they are a different company apparently, as they returned my email saying the Firetec named on the cylinder is not is business anymore (I sent photo's).

Has anyone had theirs recharged or know where this can be done around London/East Anglia? I have made a few inquiries but most seem keen to sell me a new one.

If you have one of these I suggest you check your gauge too and check the pressure.

    Thanks

    Ade

Often it’s cheeper to replace than refill fire extinguishers but any fire company should be able to refill it

I think they may of changed their name to fire trace but not totally sure

  5. The Firetec I contacted suggested Firetrace. A different company, but I contacted them by email regarding recharging. They have not responded.

How cold is it where you are ? Could just be due to low temps

  7. when mine was looking a bit low I gave it to a mate of mine who runs a fire alarm and systems business they topped up the pressure for me. So it can be done its just finding someone to do it. BTW Mine wasnt in the bus when it was topped up.
