Went to see the Damned last night in Brighton, they were great although I've never been a big fan of the Black Album. Had a cracking evening with my mates though.

In March we're off to see Elvis Presley in concert at the NEC Arena. It'll be packed out as it always is every 3 years or so when he comes to town. No, it's not an impersonator, it's the real Elvis. He sings on massive screens (taken from loads of 70s live on stage films) and his original band from the 70s play along. Sounds naff? Including the orchestra there about 40 band members. It makes for one incredible show. The way it's produced, there are many times when you totally forget he's dead and you believe he's actually there on stage. Woman scream. People laugh at his jokes. Some of the crowd get really wound up. The atmosphere in the stadium becomes so incredible that I can't put it into words. You'd have to see it for yourself. This'll probably be the last world tour they ever do - because all the band members now are in their 70s, the youngest late 60s. The man himself would have been 76.
Umming and erring about Download now they have announced the headliners. The Prodigy are playing but i think i may wait for them to announce their own gigs. I may go for a day ticket closer to the time.
We should have been seeing Alkaline Trio in Coventry last weekend but due to broken bones (theirs not ours!) it has been postponed until May next year Although in week or so, Matt (husband, aged 40) & his mates (aka 'Lost Direction') are playing as part of the end of term concert at Rock School ... it will be their first public outing having been going to Rock School for a couple of years ... I believe they are doing one song (which is top secret and he won't tell us what it is) ... does that count ... Freya has been practising her cheering 'Wooo Hooo Daaaaddddeeee' exceedingly loudly with lots of clapping seems to be the way to go!!
you wont be disappointed they were excellent, played loads of old, old stuff and good god can they play live, fantastic screens too, for once they added to the show not detracted from it! Me And My Friends - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Manchester Evening News Arena - 14th November 2011 app for the sound and quality but it's what youtube had to offer
Kasabian Stereophonics Manic Street Preachers Coldplay Snow Patrol ... we live near the O2 obviously.
Shameless plug time! And on a smaller level, I'm in two bands at the moment, one is a cover band and t'other is an original music band. Anybody in the Lincoln area want to "like" Soundproof (covers) and Black Waits (original) on Facebook, feel free! ;D
