What sort of gaps have you got between the top of your front tyre and the bottom of the wheel arch on your lowered bays? I currently have 2 inches with standard shocks and would like to go slightly lower profile tyres (got 195/60x15 but wanted to go down to 175/55x15) and drop down one more notch on the adjuster and fit stiffer shocks so hopefully won't get much rubbing. Ideally, could anyone who has got less than 2 inches tell me what front shocks they are running and whether they have any rubbing issues. ta
Pretty sure I was within the 2". It rubbed like buggery with gas shocks so I fitted bump stops with exchanged rubbing for bumps! As you're on adjusters you can't fit stops, so coil-overs are your only hope. After a year of bouncing between the seat and the ceiling I put it back to full height...
what shocks have you got matty? - I looked at some KYB GR2 for lowered buses but the compressed length was about 245mm - mines currently at 300mm so by the time i've dropped it one more notch on the adjusters and fitted some lower profile tyres i'll probably be around 260-270 which doesn;t leave much room for compression - can;t seem to find any shocks low enough. And does yours rub and what sort of ride have u got? thanks
rides fine the front use to rub sometimes but since i have changed the shocks its fine i think its these http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares...00671_lang_EN_country_GB.htm?crumbStartPage=1 I was not interested on how low more to fill the wheel arch.
