What colour?

  1. Hi,

I need to do some minor touch-up to the paint on my bus. From the photo, does anyone know the white/dark red paint codes? I am presuming they are VW colours as I have seen others like it.

    Cheers

  2. I would suggest getting it colour matched as you may find there's a shade difference from what it was originally sprayed

  3. the off white is probably L90D....the burgundy could be any one of a thousand shades.....it also depends on when it was done as paint tone changes over time, especially if you're only touching up, rather than cutting the paint back all over.

Drive your bus to a local Autopaint store and the guy/gal will come out with a load of swatches to properly colour match both

here's a tip: most autopaint suppliers can mix you an aerosol to match....this is much thinner than touch up....for stonechips etc. you can apply it with an artists' paintbrush and build it up proud of the original finish...leave it a full fortnight and cut it back with a de nibber or a small flat superfine sanding pad

  6. Nice one - I will give them a go. I do have a couple of old paint cans with a very small amount left over of each colour so will take them in.

  7. You will see it at Techenders next weekend if you want a closer look!
