Hi all, I'm getting some paint on my bus and am wondering what colour the roof bars and cleats should be on my front hinged Westy roof as per the original spec. I reckon the bars should be black and the cleats silver. Am right or do you better? Thanks.
I don`t think the metal tie down bits were painted but plated and i`m not sure if the bars were just galvanised or painted white .
Originally galvanised, so silver / grey. You could see traces of galv on mine at the ends, where they weren't too rusty. I wanted to get them shiny plated, but it was £120 and the plater still specified plating suitable for dry weather use / garaged so wouldn't last. I cleaned them down with a decent knotted wire brush on the angle grinder and then painted in Pastel white - all of the roof was re-done in pastel white as well, so it looks good matching.
