Westy Roof (Front hinged) roof stays -brackets at back that lock and hold roof

Not sure if these are common on other westy roofs (I suspect not as the rear hinged roof is longer so this would imply the stays are a different length........I need the ones for the front hinged roof, it is the 2 brackets / stays, that lock into position when the roof is out up. one of mine is ok (drivers side on a RHD) but nearside is bent.

 

Still looking for one please, about to put new roof material on and don;t wanna tear it ............anyone have one (I need 2, but can make do with the nearside one as mine is twisted) thanks in advance

 

Are you sure it would bend back with heating (blow torch) and twisting.

 

Its at an engineering / fab company being put right and having additional supports put on for extra strength.... But i'd still take a new pair if they came along as mine is an unknown right now... Do u have them for sale ?

 

Just to update this, I do not need them now, I just collected mine from the engineering company that I hoped would repair the one................I am astounded by the results, it's better than new top top job and all for the price of a pint.........though I did give him a 20 so I known he'll look after me in future.............

That said, leave the thread open as I know Malc (Poptop2) is after one.........

ive seen some westys,

with hydraulic rams fitted .. that seems like a good idea.... O0
