Westy / riviera underbody gas tank

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Austin, Feb 9, 2014.

  1. I have one for sale that I'm never gonna use, and have been meaning to get rid off.

It's from a 77 riviera, but is the same one as the Westy, and a few others.

It's old, and if I were so wine looking to use this, I'd get it properly tested etc, all I can say is, it works, holds gas, and does what it's meant to. I lit the stove fed from this gas tank when I first got my 77 and then took it out, as my bus is low, and will get whacked off!! It still has some gas I. I think!!

£100 takes it, need the funds for propex!!

    Cheers

How do you get gas into these?

  5. Some service stations have LPG on tap. You attach the filler hose and once it reaches the correct pressure it turns off.
Only some stations supply lpg, you'll have to google what's in your area.

Cool thought so but wasn't sure.

  7. Quite a lot of caravan places do it, they will service and fill it for you, there is a couple of places in mk. I thought about it, but it'll just get whacked off the bottom of a lowered bus!!

  8. what's the diameter of your tank Pkrboo? Also, any chance you could measure the ground clearance? Still undecided on underslung tank.....

  9. Vanorak, how low are you?

  10. As John Wayne used to say "Lower than a rattlesnake's belly"

in actual fact it's a mere 1 1/2 inch drop all round....not measured the actual clearance

  11. That sort of drop you'll be fine I think, mine is 3.5 inches of drop up front, and a set of rear transporterhaus horse shoes plates at the rear, and it's borderline for me, but when I get a beam adjuster it'll defo be a no go.

  12. I'll see what I can do, only thing is its up on axle stands at the moment
