Hi all Mrs Jones has made all the curtains now except for the really long one that goes around the cab. The Instructables website only gives vague instructions, so she's stuck. The instructions say to put a length of elastic in the top, but it doesn't say how much elastic. It also says not to have elastic for the first 26" from each end of the curtain... But that doesn't correspond to the measurement between the poppers on the van, so she's confused. Wouldn't it make more sense for the bit between the poppers not to have elastic, then to have elastic along the front screen? Not being able to see a cab curtain, it's hard to tell what to do. Does anyone know how to do the top bit of the long cab curtain please? eg how long a piece of elastic to use, and where to put it! Cheers!
I have bought a set of reproductions from NLAVW. They are really good and the cab section does have elastic but I'm on my way out now so will take a look tomorrow and see if I can help.
Yes, we will probably get one of those eventually but it would be good to get the complete set of curtains made up seeing as she's got the fabric all cut out ready and the lining in...
As others have said. elastic in front section only. This is the side section and the double popper is where the front section starts. The elastic is stitched in 80mm before the first of the double poppers as you can just make out on the pic. Hope this helps
