WANTED Westy Berlin Side Chest Fridge

As above, German/Euro not US Campmobile.
If you've got an old one collecting dust in the garage after the upgrade/re-fit or are even considering pulling your old one in the future please contact me. I'm not bothered about the cabinet or even the lid, just the fridge box & bits connected to it.

I had a 12v only one

 

Mine has the usa spec 12v one. Elements got hot and the inside got a little chillier than ambient temp, but not much. I sold it along with the remains of my original interior to a very enthusiastic dutchman. Plug-in coolbox is a better solution for us tbh.

 

cant you convert to 12v with a step down convertor or something ?

 

We do & the fridge is awesome, making ice quickly and reliably chilling but...as we've got the refilable gas on board it would make sense to have the Berlin box which as @philntfc has is 3 way.
He'll cave under forum pressure eventually lol, but in the mean time I'm keeping my options open haha

as you know I do have a plan B which is to have a custom fridge box made to take a dometic compressor fridge kit. It's just that the 3 way Berlin will fit straight into the Campmobile framework...I think.
The solar just about copes with the fridge this time of year but dull days do cause the fridge element to hammer the battery.

 

If you go the custom route I would be interested in the same if building more than one gets a better deal. Mine is a USA Campmobile and doesn't work. A previous owner ripped out most of the electrics to it though the cooling pipework etc is all there. I will probably need to remove it and do the upside down thing to get it going too. It's an ace cool box mind

 

For the love of god just drink faster!!! Bag of ice is a quid...fill the fridge with beer.
