Westy Berlin measurements please!

  1. Can any one with a Berlin measure the 4 dimensions shown below for me?

BLUE LINE - from edge of worktop (exclude the trim) to the front of the hinge
RED LINE - front of unit to front of hinge
BLACK LINES -edges of work top to edges of hinges

It would stop me faffing around greatly...

    thanks

  2. I can do this tonight. The unit is in pieces at the moment but I can put the hinges back on and check.

  3. That would be brilliant - advance thanks!

  4. Just measured mine.

    red - 39.0
    Black - 5.7
    Blue - 29.6

I have relaminated my unit but did use the original holes so hopefully correct, but @Lofty if its easy for you to check on yours to confirm please do.

  5. thats fantastic - thanks for the quick response. It'll save me weeks!

  6. I will check. Memory tells me the 'black' measurement is different on each hinge but I am getting old !

  7. Ah - didn't think of checking that. I think you might be right. Will check tonight.

  8. Guess I'd never noticed but the left hand edge has more of an overhang, perhaps it's shorter on the right to stop it catching the driver's seat.

Are you making a new top and have you got original hinges? The positions of the coach bolts holding the hinges might be relevant, but Lofty and Peasoup can tell you this.

  9. West Berlin? It's quite big, with lots of lakes in it.

  10. Blue is 297mm
    Red is 390mm
    Left black is 59mm
    Right black is 30mm

Pretty much the same as @PeaSoup allowing for wobbly tape measures and dodgy eyesight. The left hinge is definatly further in than the right but then you can see this in your photo as well.

  11. So I measured left black earlier, so have now done the right:

    Right black - 28mm.

  13. I see you are in Leicester. We have a Berlin and are in Derby. You are welcome to come and do any detailed measurements or comparisons on ours you need if that helps?

  14. Thanks for all the replies - off to measure, drill and fit.

I've made a top for my unit (which was a 'lower' spec US sink unit once), with a set of original hinges .

    Here it is pre top
