Hi all, Has anyone bought and fitted westy louvred window outer frame to body seals? I bought some correct grey colour ones from Schofields. They are a bit narrower, about 3mm, than the originals and when fitted will no doubt show some of the areas of rust that I'm treating. I'm also wondering if they will seal properly. Has anyone bought the Wolfsburg West complete window rubber kit? I was wondering if the outer seal is any wider. Thanks, John
Ive fitted the Wolfsburg West kit with success, from memory the seals are very close to original (or what was on our westy previously). On Majors build thread, I'm sure there are some pics of the windows fitted to the bus & they may show the seal.
When I had to do the opposite many years ago because the correct grey ones were not available, the main difference was a std black one was much chunkier/thicker. Or are you replacing an original grey seal with a new grey seal?
Hi, Thanks for all your quick replies. I'm replacing an original grey seal with a new one from Al Scholfield which I guess are WW. Below is a photo of the original Westy seal. The new ones are the same as the one in Bobs post.
Inner seals are sold by JK and others but I'm not sure which year westfalias we're originally fitted with them. The brochures for the 79 model show that they didn't have an inner seal.
I tried fitting one of the good ones on my 78 and the top and bottom part of the seal were OK but the side profile of my louvred windows are too fat for the seal. If there is one that fits, I'd love to finish off the interior with these. AFAIK I have original Westie lourvered windows.
