Westfalia cooker - very low flame

  1. Hi Everyone,
Glad to see the forum back up and running - also like TLB twitter activity :)

I'm hoping someone can help me out with a bit of info on my Westy cooker. Just got a new camping gas bottle and the flame is now very low on the hob. Wondering whether it's a faulty bottle or it's something else and it's a coincidence it happened when I changed bottle.

Other than the regulator and the inlet value is there any other common problems? An adjustment on the air-inlet? Any suggestions would be great before I go and change the full bottle. Cheers!!

I'd get the bottle checked out. But first check your regulator is fitted correctly and that the pipe is not twisted or kinked.

  3. Did it work OK before?

I see you've got a RHD model so this might not be relevant, but if you've got an old German spec. cooker your regulator pressure may not be high enough.

I'll elaborate later if this looks like the case.

  4. Is that a Westfalia Malaga ?? do you have the crumpet toaster that fits on top of the hob ... i would love pics of the top and underside of the hob .....pretty please

  5. Well I for one couldn't wait to see a Westfalia crumpet warmer, so I googled it- [IMG]
What's next? A westy chippy fryer?

  6. Ha ha I don't have a crumpet warmer. I'll try and get some pics of the hob up asap but it's pretty standard looking.

Andyv - thanks for posting. How do you adjust the regulator pressure? Yes it's been working fine before.

  7. i need close up of the brass crumpet toater connection in the corner and the underneath if you can get to it ..... i have said toaster but not the correct hob ,altho a continential hob is the same minus the gas bits for the toaster
