So, my daughter entered a competition in the local paper and was at the award ceremony today. One winner from each school. Of the 15 schools all the kids turned up with their parents, yet only 3 teachers turned up. My daughters teacher wasn't there, he's off work at the moment. The head mistress described this as him using up his annual sick leave??... So the compere mentioned that he was surprised by the lack of teachers in attendance this year - I couldn't help myself and heckled, 'its Wednesday, maybe they got the days wrong and have gone shopping. Again' (most) of the room laughed - the 3 teachers who were there looked like i'd just taken a dump on their Nan's grave.
That's hilarious ) Sod them if they cant see the humorous side. Some people take things far to seriously :
i went to our georges play tonight and was pleasantly supprised that all the teachers and pa s was there so k++ to em all for that
lol believe me if I went to every award ceremony for the kids I teach then it' be a part time job in itself. Good that some teachers were there though eh?
That is a bit off, there should be someone from the school there for something like this, just to represent. It'd be a bit like us in our department not turning up for Graduation. (Mind you, I do quite like Graduation because of the fancy dress. )
