I just stumbled upon this site today. Finally, a place just for us! Well I just wanted to introduce myself and my bus, Buckminster. (named after Buckminster Fuller) I found the poor guy in pieces in a garage where he'd been sitting for years. Under all the dust, I found an amazingly well preserved bus. 74,000 miles, virtually zero rust, every option including a dash clock and AC, missing nothing but the front cot. He even still has the original unused first aid kit with old band aids and surgical tape marked 19 cents! The sink, fridge and stove all still work because the previous owner never used them once! Sadly, he is Mexico Beige, the only color I disliked, but it's growing on me. Well, that's enough about us. Now I'm gonna jump in and read about all of you. Peace.
Welcome to the forum fella, sounds like an excellent find and can't wait to see these pics, get em uploaded ;D
Funny you should mention that. I am still trying to figure out how to upload pix and set my avatar. It must be right in front of me and I'm just not seeing it. Any suggestions would be hot. Thx. Nice gnat hailfrank. You got me, I tried to squish it. (don't take away my new karma point for that! )
Thanks hailfrank. I was hoping it would be something complicated so I wouldn't feel so silly. Careful what you wish for, right? This should keep me busy for a minute.
Well talk about instant karma- I used to draw photo-realistic bugs, shadow & all, on papers at work. Then I would laugh my butt off when people would swat them. So I fully had that coming.
Most of my family are photographers, but my sister Jenna is the only pro. She has some stunning work, doesn't she? She even won Best Wedding Photographer in Las Vegas a while back. (I can't help bragging about my baby sister.) In answer to your question, she was using a tilt shift. I know they are expensive lenses, but if you're interested you can make one out of an old lens, a plunger and some black tape. Find the instructions on youtube. I certainly wouldn't invest hundreds in a tilt shift now. It's gaining popularity SO fast it's gonna burn out and become too dated very soon. (in my opinion) But they are certainly fun to play with.
Oh sure. Didn't you ask me about that before? Somebody did and it completely skipped my mind. Sorry. I'll take care of it in just a bit.
