It's all nonsense really. Just an aircraft without wings. Any fighter jet could go faster than that if it kept its wheels on the deck. In my opinion, a true land speed record is only achieved if the traction is applied directly to the wheels in contact with the ground.
I think the main thing is keeping it stable at such speeds.I know it was on water but Mr Campbell found that one out
