Welding spirals!!

  1. So my bus went in to get the welding done and it's finally coming back at the weekend. It originally went in for the rear guttering and rear windows been an ex panel van the window surrounds were shot!
He had a look at the rest of the roof guttering and there was 78 holes down the drivers side and 76 holes down the passenger side! So that's now fixed.
And while it was there I had him look at the floor there was no inner inner sills on either side and the jacking points were only tac welded on each corner and 4 inches of the jacking points weren't even welded. And the nr side of the floor wasn't even welded to the inside so basically from what I can gather is the sills weren't connected to the floor.
The annoying thing is the welding before was all done at the same time when they did the bottom 6 inches all round the bus why not do it properly the first time. So the price has spiralled a bit but not out of my price range and I now have a solid bus!! And can't wait to get it back and get it painted and my interior fitted ready for summer!

  2. oh dear! sounds like someone was a bit over worked and forgot to do the seam welding. I tack quite a bit together and sometime forget to finish things up, not to this extent though hehe!
