Just bought a 2nd hand stock exhaust for my bay but when it turned up this morning I realised its actually a beetle exhaust with one side badly plated up Before I contact the seller and start complaining....will it make a difference? Are the internals the same? Cheers Russ
I have a rusty bus one just removed, I'll chop it up tomorrow and have a look see if it offers any clues.
seen a few on buses with two pipes coming out of the back... 1200 are smaller and will not fit the ports...
Got one on mine, but not sure what happens if you block a tailpipe. Probably nothing! I know there's one big bit of baffle covers both tailpipes in a beetle one because mine came loose and I could see it down the tailpipe holes. I had to send it back to get a replacement so couldn't chop that one.
not sure but I think a bay one has the rhs ducted towards the lhs ,with yours the natural course is blocked .... Zed block one of yours for experiment purposes... got a feeling it is not going to like it...
Not sure about that. When I took mine off and it's tailpipes, I could see the same bit of baffle rattling about down the tailpipe holes.
I don't suppose any one has cut up a beetle one to compare with the photos above?? Cheers for the help chaps I appreciate it!!
I have an Ernst beetle exhaust on my bus. The baffle came loose and I could see it down both tailpipe holes at the same time so although it's not like the one I cut in half, it's not 2 independent sides either. So I reckon it would work. Having said that, I bet the welded bit is the first bit to rot away. Hope it was as cheap as chips.
