Not sure if it's of any use to anyone but I decided to weigh our '73 westfalia. Took it to the local scrapyard, popped it on the weigh bridge and she came in at 1553kg with 1/4 tank of petrol and no driver. It included all the westfalia interior, front hinged roof, gas bottles, fridge etc. Book says max weight is 2300kg so I'm going to weigh all the passengers and gear to see how close we get. I'm doing this because I'm planning on fitting a towbar, towbar platform and luggage box which will add some weight.
I weighed my 73 westy with 5 adults and a weeks worth of camping and other stuff and it came in at 2340kg.
Don't mention that. Folk tend to get very touchy when you question their woefully inadequate tyres.....
I've tried and the response is generally "what's it got to do with you?" Nothing really but I'd definitely mention it if they caused an accident. Some troll from ear1ybay.com got the right hump.
My tyres are only flat at the bottom! And if I take out @Mrs Top Banana Racing 's "weekend" bag they're nice and round.
But is it the case that if when a bus left factory as say an early version people carrier as I believe some did and had bench type seats for with a push/crush 8 people times say 70 kg body weight that's an indication of poss. load carrying capability?which is wot I work it on when picking up hitch hikers .
The t25 was available as a 15 seater, though still with a 2400kg maximum weight. I assume it was only for carrying little kids or very light adults. Plus you'd have to sit in the lotus position in it.
