Anyone got a link to internal layout of jets, have 55 idles, 160 mains, 150 and 40 inside float assuming 150 is air. Have adjusted floats to 6mm from 7mm and cleaned all jets. Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk
Ha ha, which jet is this bud as this is 150 other is 40. Spent time today trying to sort backfire (its back) cleaned all plugs as van only been moved not properly ran and stripped carbs Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk
https://www.dellorto.co.uk/shop/web...rs-parts/idf-parts/pump-exhaustspill-valve/?? with 40 stamped on it, cool that hopefully is original. will drop out emulsions tomorrow but think they were F6 and try to seperate idle jet from its holder so can clean properly.
I wonder what size mains others on here use in their ICTs which for me, always seem to want huge ones, like yours.
1600/type 1 150 mains, 55 idles, 165 air correction, F6 emulsion. found this in my old notes, may change back to 150 mains but this obviously wont help cold starting back firing.....
It won't effect cold starting but it might pop and bang driving. I would stick with what you have unless others with ICTs chip in and advise smaller.
Just checking...the main jet is in the bowel at a funny angle. The main air is on the top of the bottom half with the emulsion under it. So, 150? 160? Which is where?
my type 4 on ICTs has: 165 mains, 185 airs, 55 idles, 150 needle jets and F6 emulsions. http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/weber-ict-jetting-fuel-pump-pressure.77276/
Wayoutwestie has a great blog post on ict use, including jet sizes for different applications. https://www.wayoutwestie.com/aircooled-tech/running-weber-icts-on-a-vw-aircooled-engine/ Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
Cant understand why I didnt change needle jets before, been running for years in this set up no issues until I changed exhaust and fuel lines Sent from my SM-A405FN using Tapatalk
Its the exhaust. Suddenly the flow increased and the engine ran leaner. The fuel metering needle valves only need changing if they are worn. If you can see a ring on the needle where it seats, its probably time to replace it. But you do need low fuel pressure for Webers, aftermarket fuel pumps can be a bit more enthusiastic..
2.0 type 4. 155 mains 170 air 57 idles F6 emulsion. I tried Wayoutwestie’s recommendation with 165 main setup but was too rich. I may try a wideband A/F gauge to check it. On the other hand I may just leave it as it runs fine.
1 idle was jammed in holder and either partially blocked just didnt want to force it until had better information on parts etc. Ordered new idles from eurocarb and new gaskets, Mike @wayoutwestie is building servicing our icts for beetle but with lockdown thought Id have a dabble. Need new regulator and manifolds as they are both really old working empi, (if there is such a thing !) but will have to wait for funds and being able to use camper.
