Hi all Apologies for another thread on my weber 34ict type 4 installation, but thought this separate thread would keep it 'neat'. So, just a couple of questions from the installation instructions.. Mentions an 8 thou gap between the throttle plate & side of the carb barrel wall, then it goes on to mention an 8 thou gap between the butterfly & carb wall.. is this the same thing, I.e. is the throttle plate the same thing as the butterfly? Then, when running the carbs for the first time, it mentions rotating the idle speed screw. Is this the same as the throttle stop screw on the left of each carb, see photo below. From the photo below there are 2 adjustment screws, the throttle stop (idle speed?) screw and the one on the right.. is this the mixture screw? Finally, I assume the tube on the left is for the dizzy vacuum pipe. Shall I just take this off the left carb & blank the right one off? Thx.
Ok, put the carbs together but I've got a couple of bits left over and wondered if anyone knows where they should go? Photos below show what bits are left over, 6 cup serated washers (do these go either side of the spacers that fit between the top if the xarb & the air cleaner base?), 4 flat serated washers (do these go between the top of the air cleaner top and the wing nuts, and 4 domed washers that are rubber on the inside (haven't got a clue where these go!). Thanks again.. always very much appreciated!
mine has domed washers (with rubber bits underneath) and serrated washers on top of the upper part of the air cleaner. wingnut goes over the top of them.
Thx, what about those dome shaped serrated washers? There are 6 of them, so I guess 3 per side, so must fit below these spacer tubes??
The domed rubber ones are roofing washers, put them on your plastic corrugated car port. Hope that helps.
Not sure what they achieve on top of the air filter housing, being domed & rubber one side... looks like they are intended to be air tight, but the top of the air filter housing is ribbed?
They're brilliant actually, they act like a lock washer without digging into anything. I just use those and wingnuts. You want them tight enough not to rattle loose but also loose enough not to crush anything, somehow they just work.
