ERRANT parkers in South Kesteven found a lack of Christmas spirit among the newly deployed Parking Enforcement Offices. Since the county council introduced their offensive against motorists who stopped at inconvenient places in December, they bagged 4,222 of them. While most were in Lincoln (2,445) the second most active place was South Kesteven (Grantham and Stamford) with 668 booked. Each parking fine costs between £50 and £70 reduced by half if paid within 14 days. In the week before Christmas. 259 motorists were issued with tickets in South Kesteven, more than East Lincolnshire, West Lincolnshire, North Kesteven or South Holland received for the entire month. If I was a PEO be a dam sight more booked. Edit Lincolnshire police gave it up over a year ago so a lot of drivers got lazy and inconsiderate about where they parked.
It's like that in Norfolk too mate, county council took over the traffic warden job and my god do they do it well. I think they're using it as a way to supplement their budgets so they can waste more money on beurocracy and red tape and their fat cat wages
Its a private company here so the council only get whatever the contract amount was and rest to the company but we only have about 6 persons to cover the whole of Lincs so its not going to improve parking anytime soon.
I'm all for them dining inconsiderate parkers. I'd also like to see those that block roundabouts fined too. Here in Croydon it's a nightmare.
