Which wax/polish do you guys use. Am after a deep wax shine over some patina type finish so needs also the protection. cheers
Ditto, slap on with a brush and buff with a cloth, don't leave to long between slapping and buffing ( ooo errr)
This will end up like the oil thread I use dido wax but not sure about on top of patina should be good but leaves it like wet look gloss good for shows and last long
Anything with a high carnauba wax content, I use Dodo Juice wax. Remember to prep well., clay bar and polish.
We have fairly good patina to protect along with 99% OG Paint. I tend to use snowfoam and megs car shampoo Autoglym Resin Polish to clean the paint up Finally apply a layer of Finish Care 1000p sealant over the top The paint/patina hasnt deteriorated in the last 4 years so must be doing some good Its also dry and smooth to the touch rather than tacky as can be with anchor wax
I was wondering what to put on mine also @ian and cathie. Anchor wax was suggested but apparently it is hard to remove and you will lose original paintwork when it comes the time to do so. However , this has meant I've not put anything on mine and I should have. @StuF is yours a permanent sealant?
Not fully permanent although does last a good few months after application - have had the same tin of FK1000p for a few years so it goes a long way. There are loads of products out there and I have stuck to what works for me - the collinite above is good stuff too but I prefer a hard sealant rather than a glossy wax I use Bilt Hamber wax on my MK5 GTI to good effect - but that is shiny rather than Patina!
