Hello. The washer hose on the passenger side of the van has fallen out ... Is there an easy way of fitting it back onto the washer - or is it a case of putting your hand up under the dash and poking round for the nipple
It just pushes on, poss with a rubber piece over it. Prob best to take the nozzle out: squeeze the "ears" together inside the van under the dash and pop it out.
It's probably fallen off because the rubber has perished, so cut the stretched perished bit off before refitting. A bit of grease on the nipple helps I find
yep, not a difficult job even on late vans with hose in the steering column. Much better to replace than risk the water leaking out down the inside of the front panel
have you got glove box out dan? im sure i got to mine ok thru here tabs on washer jet need squeezing to gether to take them off then poke new hose thru n do from outside and push back on no?
i took the glove box out ... i could not find any tabs to squeeze ... so to take the actual washer off - there are tabs to squeeze? its a bit like fumbling in the dark and getting no satisfaction from it
Have a squint with a torch. They live down holes in the (double) front panel. Pair of long nose pliers will do the trick.
You might have to park the wipers in the middle of the screen to get access though the mechanism. Alternatively, order a pair of new ones and rip them out from the outside
Had to laugh at this^ the monkeys did this for me a Woburn Safari, luckily it was the wife's car we were driving! I don't know if you can specify which bits they remove though!
I tried this and was constantly paranoid someone would try the keys and my fingers would be chopped off I may do the ordering a new one trick.
Sensible ! Either pull the plug out of the wiper assembly or (better) disconnect the battery -ve. The mech will quite reliably remove several digits ...
Beat me to it Snotty. You should be able to squeeze one side with a screwdriver while lifting it a little from the outside. Hold it there and repeat with the other side and it'll come out. They come out quite easily when you squash the right spot.
