Was this the problem ? Solenoid on dizzy ?

  1. Hi Guys.

    Seem to be on this part of the forum all the time at the mo.Set off on a trip but van began missing under load.Found a little nick in the solenoid lead near the fixing into the dizzy.Changed the part now runs okay on around a half hour run.I know I am being paranoid but do think this was almost def' the problem ?

  2. It's your contact breaker lead. If the nick was shorting to the mounting bracket, the engine would stop (no sparks). May or may not be your problem.

  3. Cheers felt like it was similar to when the insulation broke on the connectors on the lead to the coil from the dizzy.Most likely to be the prob.Fingers crossed. @snotty

    So you changed the condenser? Maybe the condenser itself was at fault. :)

  5. Yeah sorry condenser.Always get me parts mixed up.Mrs K hates it !!!!! @zed Well half an hour up hills down n up gears no missing so hopefully get away tomorrow.Only one night missed hopefully.Seems to have been the prob.
