If been to look at a T5 . The van is 10k including vat so I was thinking they would supply a years warranty .. I was shocked to hear the guy say that it would be 1 month . is this normal for such a high value vehicle ? 58 plate so Vw warranty has expired (it's high value to me as the most expensive vehicle iv ever bought is £5300)
Smart move, in this time of recession, if you have 10k to spend on a van - they should be treating you like royalty!!!
why dont you ask warrentee .com. for a quote. for a 12 months warantee and knock it off what they want for the van, if you aint already brought it. perhaps they know it wont last more than a month before something will go wrong.
we are getting 1 yr on out new one with the ability to extend that to 3 years if wanted. 1 month just sounds dodgy
By law they should give you a 3 month warranty, this should be a warranty underwritten by a company such as warranty wise, RAC etc.... Usually warranties that small dealers offer are not usually worth the paper they are written on due to the huge excess's, sill claim limits (usually £500). If I was you, I would call warrantywise (google them), get a price of a 6 month warranty and negotiate that cost off the van!!!
Slightly off topic i know, after having aT5 for a few months ( 54 plate ) i was horrified by all the bad stories about them, even worse when mine started suffering problems. Even heard of 25k mile motors needing flywheels replacing!!! Avoid the 2.5 130 bhp, loads of problems, i should know!!! Beware rust issues, saw plenty with rust on sills, even on 2007/8 vans. after my experiance i feel they are overpriced for what they are and build quality is a bit iffy on some. have a look at the t4/t5 forum for problems!!
