....... Never leave your fires unattended!!!! As Liz said in her photos there was a blaze on Friday night of winter camp. Everyone had gone into the tunnels whilst i was cooking my curry. When I was finished I went to the sinks to wash up and as I walked back to the vans there was a massive yellow glow in the middle of the vans. I thought to myself - ah they are back and have put logs onto the fire - but as I got to Pinky it was obvious that was not the case. One of the camping chairs had blown over and landed in a fire pit and was melting away ... this lead to the fire spreading over the (then dry) grass and it was spreading. Luckily - Roger had also been left behind so we removed the burning chairs and caps and he put it out with his extinguisher. I honestly think - if no one had been there at all the fire would have spread and caught some of the other chairs as it was so windy. So ...... please never leave fires unattended! good advice there, we had the same problem at one dubfreeze i recall, the security mans chair set fire there too, along with a few signs and stuff.
Ive been mentioning this sort of thing for ages now and people think im soft To be honest its only a matter of time before someone loses and awning or a bus or even worse their lives
