Wanted T2 Bay Windscreen - Northwest

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Jacksoki, Jan 14, 2014.

  1. Hi, looking for a late bay windscreen.

Must be free from cracks chips etc, needed for upcoming mot!

Based near Warrington but work near Bradford.

    Thanks.

  2. Ive got a brand new screen. Based near Bristol….£75 cash on collection

  3. Check out my review of the Brasilian glass before you part with your hard earned, in product reviews, panels doors etc. mine didn't fit and I'm not the only one to experience this problem. I also have an issue around the term of phrase 'brand new'.

I subsequently found that type 2 windscreens are readily available at auto glass, national windscreens etc for between £60 and £75. I've bought 1 from each of these since and they fit perfectly within seconds
    :)

  4. The camper is a brazilian aircooled 2002, thanks for the tip will contact auto glass as Bristol is too far unless they can ship??

  5. I
    Is it for a brazilian?

    Can you post?

  6. Brazilian VW glass fits perfectly and I have one fitted in my 1973 bay no problem (fitted straight in) and have sold lots to owners of older bays as well as later types. There is only one type of bay windscreen made… The only change that can happen is if the front end has been repaired or restored in the past of the vehicle itself. This can change the opening size/fit slightly… I don't post. Its collection only or you can send your own courier. Ive also sold loads to glass companies like auto glass etc……All glass has come out of a brand new bay before its been used on the road so is new and has been tested/fitted in a bay.

So the quesion is then do, or don't they, fit? You cant both be right.

  8. well BS, I know i'm right with what I bought, or rather, what was supplied to me...

The *****ing thing didn't fit because the *****ing thing was too *****ing big. I also know that i'm not the only one who has had the same problem. This was being fitted to an unmolested, unrestored, rust free van which had its original factory fitted windscreen and seal removed by me. The guy who sold the screen to me tried the 'must have been rusty, pranged, welded, molested' line with before which I not only thought was ****** but also pretty Marmite customer service and a complete insult.

Essentially 'mine fit so ***** off' doesn't really wash as a valid response in my book.

I wouldn't consider also that a windscreen, wheels, tyres, shock absorbers etc that have already been fitted to a vehicle and then sat around a storage yard, docks, ship etc should be sold as 'New'

The windscreens I have bought after this from other suppliers have had different markings, have been thicker and have also fit like a glove, therefore I would further suggest that there isn't "only one type of bay windscreen made… "o_O

However, as the op has a Brasilian bay it should fit his bus perfectly, shouldn't it...?
