Wanted! Mechanic in West Midlands

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by safitter, Feb 15, 2014.

  1. Wanted! Just bought a bus and would like to get the engine some TLC with a good old tune up and service. Can anyone recommend a mechanic in the Birmingham / Kidderminster area?
    Thanks

  2. Welcome to the pleasure (and pain) of owning a vw bus.

I would recommend getting clued up yourself and doing some of the work yourself. Good guys with the skill to look after these vans are few and far between. There are plenty of resources around on the internet and this forum. A good book like the Bentley manual is invaluable.

  4. You.

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon....... and for the rest of your life

  5. It's good to get an understanding yourself.

However this doesn't suit everyone and some jobs are daunting when it's all new to you. Knowing where there's someone skilled and knowledgeable locally is very reassuring.

I don't know any garages in your area, but perhaps joining a local owners club would help you find somwhere. That's what I did when I got my first van.

    Good luck :)
