My first car was a Triumph 1300 that had a lovely wooden dash and later I had a TR4A with the same.

That is really nice! I was thinking of making something very similar just the other day but realised it wasn't that easy what with my limited skills and total lack of time! Could you make them in other wood?

  10. Of course any type of wood, walnut is a very sought after timber and very expensive but looks so good. I have made these to fit into the channel on the edge of the top dash part in the same way the original fits.

How do you fit them Simon? The orginals had 6 studs built in, have you done the same?

  12. Yes,there are slim brackets with threaded studs fixed to the rear of the trim. As you can see on the photo the walnut trim goes into the channel on the top all the way .

They are a work of art.

  14. Thanks Zed they are very difficult to make, i have worked as an antique restorer and also built ash frames for a vintage car restoration company.

Would oak or ash be any cheaper? I'm redoing my interior cabinets in a light oak or ash so would be a better match

  19. The first few dont have but can be fitted to the blanks that are unfinished. Extra cost though, im at my lowest price at the moment.
