Vw`s get under your skin Well I’ve always been into old cars mostly Jaguars/Daimlers I’ve had xj6`s and a 1966 Daimler V8 for 23 years But after a weekend at the F1 Gp in 2000 the one with all the rain and mud In a tent . I decided to get a camper any 60`s/70`s camper . I had never had any Interest in VW`s but the first camper I looked at was a 78 bay went for a test drive And fell in love . I gave it a quick paint job as orange is not my thing 3 or 4 years later the rust was winning so I started a restoration I was so pleased in the end result . But here’s the sad part due to work my weekends away watching motor racing Had to stop and the camper was sold L to fund some work on my Daimler. But I cannot get air-cooled out of my mind I’m spending more time on Vw sites Now than when I had one. E bay for sale adds the lot So I’m back looking for a basket case tintop or a pickup T2 to save The quest starts again
i was buying volksworld at least 10 years before i owned my first vw. As a student my room was decorated in pics of beetles (and tank girl, obvs) and the free stickers that came with the mag. i always thought once i got one i'd get it out of my system and have a 'normal' car when i grew up.... it's been a long time coming and instead of a normal car i just added a camper
Just recently I have started getting the Bug Bug Was going through some photos I took at Volksworld 2010 and found this: But then I saw this and now I would like a Split as well !
