    I run the Vintagespeed engine workshop specialising in turnkey T1-2 engines, alongside all the Vintagespeed products I'm the uk agent for 123 ignitions, I've been in the scene for 35 years and now offer my services to the Vw community , we try and attend as many shows as possible, I offer the best and cheapest service for my products.

  11. so how does that work ?

    the crankcase fumes can't get sucked into the carbs and burnt if they are venting to atmosphere via that little filter , or have i missed something ?

  20. A similar set up to the race bikes.
    Crankcase vents to the large upright aluminium box, air cools and oil drops back to crankcase.
    Any excess pressure is sucked into the top of the filters by the negative pressure in the air filters on top of the carbs.
    Should the carbs not be open (on the overrun) then any pressure remaining (there shouldn't be much with the throttle closed) will vent via the little filter.
    Theoretically the carbs should keep the whole thing under neg pressure anyway.

    I await correction.....
