Vanwurks sliding door trim

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Erniebus, Jun 29, 2019.

  1. Hey guys has anyone installed one of the stainless edge trims for the floor by the sliding door?

I bought the vanwurks one and riveted it on as per the instructions but the roller on the door hits it preventing the door closing.

There doesn't appear to be clearance for any sort of screw/rivet. The slider seems to be fitted correctly. Any ideas?

The picture shows how it's supposed to fit pre actually riveting.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Use shorter rivets.

  3. Unfortunately I used the smalllest I could get away with lol

  4. You mean it’s hitting the rivet under the panel, where the rollers run?

  5. A call to vanwurks may be in order
Sticking it into place with something like tiger seal may be an alternative option to riveting it.

  6. I pop riveted my Devon door trim (exactly the same) in, and the bottom of the rivets don’t clout anything.

  7. I used flange head self tappers for mine and had to cut them down due to same issue with them catching the bottom roller. 2E3EC8C9-8389-4BCA-9E5B-145FC55062A7.jpeg

I used the shortest rivets I had and then filed a bit off them so the roller cleared – but it’s very close.

  9. :D Flange head! Sorry....

  10. Thanks guys I'm glad it's not just me. Yes it's the bottom roller that's hitting it. I will give those suggestions a try, it looks like it will be very close. Is there. A way of adjusting the roller?

  11. No adjustment on the actual roller I'm afraid ...
I'll be doing this job shortly so thanks for highlighting the issue.
