  1. I've been reading about valve guides and valve seats on various bits of the interweb and have come across two schools of though:

    Posts from people essentially saying:
and posts from people saying sort of:

    .... please advise :)

  2. Strictly speaking, you should ream the guides after fitting, as pressing them in may change the inner diameter.

They wear, but they don't wear that quickly.

  3. phospher bronze or ally bronze is a bearing material and will last but the heat and abuse the exhaush valves get will give them a hard time . you van ream them or stateside tuning use precision balls forced down the guides to size them /...

  4. I'd love to have precision balls :).

  5. ok and the valve seats... fully remachined or just lap the valves in by hand?

  6. Have a go at lapping. If the lapping "tracks" on the existing seats are central, you're sorted.

If you are going to the trouble of having new guides fitted then get the job done properly other wise you may as well just stick with what you have. If you get the seats done by a machine shop as well and they put a 3 angle job on them the heads will flow a little better to. So you get a little free up.

  8. you don`t hve to get a machine shop i do my own and recut the seats with a 3 angle valve job with a simple tool i made that runs in the new guide
