Value help please?

  1. Hey guys.

I know, 'how much is it worth' threads can be annoying, but I am looking for a honest valuation on my bus. I have to admit defeat, I cant finish it. I have neither the time, money or workspace. I have been offered a swap for a MOT'd T25, but the bodywork is ropey on that, and I also havent a clue how much that is worth... So some sort of idea would be really appreciated. I am aware its only worth what someone is willing to pay, but that doesnt help, I need a ballpark. And if you're looking for a project, how much would you pay for it??

The best thing I can do is link you to the build thread for pics and info of condition. Nothing has really changed since then.

And a recent one of what it looks like as it stands.

The engine is there, but is now missing a carb and a dizzy. All tinware and such present. Comes with quite a few panels, and a complete replacement (2nd hand) wiring loom, etc..

(Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I thought putting it in the for sale section wouldnt be right, given its not a for sale ad.. )

  2. Can't help with a valuation fella, shame you can't finish what you started! Good luck with the sale & getting sorted etc.

  3. It is. I am going to be gutted when it goes, but at the moment its just a huge weight on the shoulders, and I could sure do with a lot less of those!

One day I will be in a working bay, I am by no means done here!!

  4. Put it on e bay and put a reserve of 4.2 grand and see what happends ,if it reaches 3k by the end of the auction ,lower the reserve next time....

looks a easy less than a week on the road project...:hattip:

Whatever its worth , it will be worth a lot more with the pile of parts fitted to it.

Possibly enough to pay somebody to weld it up and then sell it as complete but needing painting.

  7. Wasn't someone looking for a quick summer project? Might be worth having a look in the ads section.

  8. This is very true, but when the bank accounts are empty that is sadly not an option :(

I might just stick a high reserve on it as LEF suggested then I can know exactly 'what its worth' to current buyers, as to be fair that is the only fact that matters in reality isnt it..

i think LEF is right. However, if the bodywork is ropey on the t25, i would say dont do it. regardless of the MOT. Put up pics of the t25 please. T25's that are a bit ropey are 10 a penny, and that means cheap. Im talking between £1500 and £2000. Unless it is a good conversion like a westy. I would defo not swap. 100%. if you had that rear corner welded on you would be in a much better place. Also, if you have no funds, you would be a fool to swap for something that needs so much work on the body. 25's are 10 times worse than bays for rust. Get the rear corner welded on and the valance, someone on here will have a carb you could use and even possibly a dizzy, and then if that is all you need for it to run and look better, you just need to tackle the MOT list.

The vital question is - How much is left to do, bare minimum, to get it MOT'd?

  10.

    Should I sell mine now..?

    10 x as bad I am guessing that is a lot...

however I do agree with psg (and he has had a bad t25 experience) to not swap, that when you e bay it ,the offers will pour in ,not trickle...:D

btw when I used to do them up and sell them ,yours would be a quick turnover and my palms would be sweating...

  14. aye ,the T5's are potentially more rustier...:D

  15. It needs cab floor/steps doing, both bottom corners of the windscreen, both A-pillar bottoms and the surrounding areas, the drivers door needs welding, it needs completely re-wiring, complete inner/middle/outer sills on the drivers side, its got big holes around the windows on the drivers side, both rear chassis legs/battery trays, both D-pillar bottoms, both rear corners, the panel behind the RnR/in front of fuel tank is peppered, the heater Y piece needs removing, all the breaks will need doing because it has been standing for years, then the obvious tyres and such.. The sliding door needs a damn good kick to get it to close (fail or no?). Beam needs welding up on both sides..

Thats all I can think of now.. But I am sure theres more..

  16. For the people asking for pics of the wedge... Although I can very much guess the response to these pics..

I'm a T25 fan but that one isn't particularly doing it for me.
