Using the fridge on 12v when driving

My 3 Way Dometic is coldest when running on gas.
I have a dual fan ventilator, which is thermostatically controlled and fitted on the back by the fridge heat exchanger.

Only got 12v and gas on mine unfortunately.

 

how do you use it when you get their ?

 

Run in on gas.

 

freeze ya meat sausages bacon etc , it will keep everything else cold and wont thaw out for a day or so , ive been doing that for years before i put it onto gas and for trip to site .

 

I did 3000 miles round Spain and Portugal in one so I laugh in the face of your modern transit

 

You could have done it for 1/2 the price

 

No chance I was getting really good mpg in the 2l F.I tintop plus I would had to buy one as well

Split charge either isn't working properly or your leisure battery is knackered. It should happily run the fridge whilst driving. Did you keep it in 12v when you go there? That would defo eat the leisure battery quickly

 

The 12v only works when the engine is running. Uses the 61 terminal on the alternator to switch it off using a relay.
Leisure battery is nearly 10 years old so probably just worn out.
