Just converted mine to 230v and 16amp. The housing could be used? and the internals replaced if someone is bothered... It's Westy after all and much too good for the bin Besides we've all got that sized hole cut in our rear quarter.....
Are they the same for early and late can you post hole size so I can check. Very interested as I have this missing on mine and a hole to fill!! Cheers Scott
I think the early ones are different, they stick out more and point down, well mine does anyway and its a 73 US model.
This is a distance shot of the hole on the late "78. If no-one has measured hole, I'll do it tomorrow for you. It is stupidly big compared to the size of the leccy connector thing that pokes through!
i took my us one apart and fitted a uk inside so it looked original but was uk spec, bit of a fart about but all good.
Scott I think I have still got the one I removed from my 73 which is the early type. If I can find it I'm sure we can do a deal when you drop off my interior next week! Sorry Mike for thread high jack!
I tried fitting a UK connector inside mine but couldn't find anything that didn't stick too far in to the van to sit behind the side panel nicely so gave up. I blanked it off behind the flap rather than removing and trying to fix hole and then put in a new hookup connector in where my city water connector used to be.
had to cut away all the back of the us box and fasten it to a plate behind in the fridge area cupboard, bit of a faff and not exactly pretty but it works and better than having the cable through the engine hatch like i used to, you also have to remove the "flap" off the female socket from site supply
i had the us lead with mine when i got it but in my moment of madness i thought i'll never use that so i put it in my weighing in pile with my other cables.....
