Tyre Recomendations?

  1. Need two new front tyres as mine are perishing on the side walls and have a bit of bulging going on!
I have one on the rear which is a michelin with an almost off road look and quality, so not sure whether to go for these. What are you guys using? What sort of price am i looking at?

  2. Just had 4 gt tyres for £218.

If it was me I would go for commercial tyres. I have these on all the corners of my bus, as they can take higher load ratings, I suppose it depends how much weight your carrying etc.

  4. I think you MUST have commercial tyres for a T2, it could be an insurance problem otherwise. It's a heavy vehicle even unladen, and puts big stresses on tyres when cornering.

are you on standard 14 inch wheels? if so 185/14 C van rated, i would buy a medium budget one, not the cheapest but not top end stuff as the tyres will probably perish before they wear out.

  9. UPDATE - I just lucked out :) Called the local tyre garage who happened to mention he had 3 tyres that were only 3 months old that he had fitted to someones van before they scraped it (Not crashed!). All 3 fitted for 90 quid:D
Cant believe the difference its made. The van was pulling badly to one side where the tyre sides walls had lost their strength and were perishing. Also the steering is so much lighter. REEEEEESULT

  10. Good job  I had the same experience, side walls on my old tyres were shocking, not the right load rating either, news ones made all the difference.
