Has anyone got a pair of useable heat exchangers for a 2000 fi type 4 including the manifolds ? Cheers Jason
RCC Imports have some..Davidoft sent me a link for something else FI related & I noticed they have quite a few exhaust parts in stock. They have an ebay auction site, http://stores.ebay.co.uk/rccimport?_trksid=p2047675.l2563
Thanks for the replies - I'll get a picture up tomorrow. One other thing do you know what the fuel injection cool air pipe is for.... I used to have them on the van but they where taken off and discarded by a previous garage...they are 20 quid each which doesn't bad but what do they do? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/classic-v...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c5e5eb068 Cheers Jason
cant say as I know or recognise the parts tbh - are they applicable to all FI models or a specific year. Where do they fit on the system
Is your engine a 79 with square exhaust ports? The eBay link is for heater dump tubes that were used on the 79. When the flap was closed on the flapper box by the heater cable the heat was sent via those tubes towards the rear of the bus. 75-78 just had the mushroom type of flapper box and dumped the hear right near the gearbox.
ours is a 1977 but I dont know what port shape we have (other than its a GD' motor), our definately doesnt have them!
Having a google of dump pipes bought up a link as below...I had the dump pipes originally but they weren't connected to anything...from the link it seems they to divert the heat from the heat exchangers when not going into the cab which would seem logical and interesting but I doubt I'll bother refitting them ... Or maybe I will who knows..anyway was interesting to find out more about them! http://www.greenwesty.com/2009/05/heat-control-box-dump-pipe-replaced_6161.html. Cheers Jason
for those dump pipes you need an extra outlet on the heater control pods i think with that engine code you should have oval exhaust ports, is your engine installed? got any pictures?
