Type 4 CJ case teardown take 2

Well now I know my other case is cracked.. got another longblock to strip down to get the case.. oval ports on heads... so will have to mix and match to use my heat exchangers..

Anyway... Can't shift the barrels off the pistons.. They're well stuck.. Any tips?

 

diesel and paraffin - 50/50 mix , soak overnight and see if that releases it ...
Failing that the expensive way is several cans of Plusgas .

 

Heat some oil up in a pan and pour some in each barrel
The oil will sit in a pool for a bit then drain out when the bond between rings and barrel wall is broken

 

Engine on its side of course
And the oil needs to be very hot so go carefully

 

One side at a time then... Left it with wd40...will add various hydrocarbons over the next day or so

 

Diesel down the bores.

 

Must get me some diesel... Seems to have so many uses
