I don't recall my alternators having two thick wires. I have it all wired up to the regulator but then the 2 wires heading to the starter solenoid, I these both live?
Just refitted mine this morning, regulator wiring pretty obvious then thick red/white to starter , with a black connected to that, mines a bit messy at the mo and its converted from a 1600 so the van wiring was for that set up!
Cheers both, job done. Now realised that the alternator is sat forward of the fan housing and its thrown the fan belt. Aaarrrggghhh!!! Spent the morning replacing cv boots just to find a split lower ball joint boot. Aaarrrggghhh!!! In for Mot now, fingers crossed...
