FOR SALE Type 4 2.0 litre fuel injected turnkey engine

  1. Up for sale is my type 4 fuel injected 2.0litre engine. Hydraulic lifters. It has qx 15w40 mineral oil in it which it runs better on.

This will have full heat exchangers and exhaust which are like new(fitted in the last two years), all tinwear, the full fuel injection setup.

It has had a new alternator(8 months ago.) It has pertronix points replacement, which was fitted 7 years ago and I haven't had to touch it since.

At the moment the engine is still installed and I would prefer anyone who wants it to come and drive it first. I will put up a video of it running as well.

I drove 260 miles yesterday on the dual carriageway and it never missed a beat and pulls like a train. Averages 20-22mpg

Based in North Lincolnshire, I can deliver for a price.

    £1600 for the engine

    Any questions please ask.[IMG]

  6. Is it a GE cali with square ports?

  7. Ge non Cali, federal engine. Square ports. Approx mileage is (according to Speedo ) 117k but I think it has had heads done in past.

Got thermostat and flaps on it as well

Am I getting confused? I thought you had one built in the not too distant past?

  11. I did - have had repeated over heating issue with it and it is currently with the engine builder "again" and need/want something reliable to keep me going in the mean time, or maybe just to keep instead!

Fair point! How many times has it been back now?

  13. Out of interest if you are thinking of buying an engine for £1500 to keep you going how much did you spend in the first place on the engine with overheating issues.

  14. Losing track - third time I think now!

  15. I think it was £1800 for the rebuild.

Have got to desperation point as I need the van usable, and figure that I should be able to get the money back before too long by selling which ever engine I don't end up using!

  16. apologies for the seemingly stupid question but how do you know your engine is overheating?

    Jeez, I'd be spitting teeth!

  18. The engine builder should be!

  19. Are you allowed to say who the builder is so I know to stay away from him/her?

  20. Would rather not. They are still happily working with me to try and get it resolved, and are as frustrated as me! My only annoyance with them is it all taking so long!!
