  1. I m going to fettle my carbs, getting no change of CO2 readings when fiddling with tickover mixtue, summat kaput in there. I ve got the kits and destructions from various sources. Has anybody got any insider knoledge that may be of help. Things sometime get ommited. Cheers

  2. Is the CO reading rich? if so you may have set the fuel float bowl level to high? mine was permanently running rich when i had the fuel level set to 14mm and no amount of turning the mixture screws made any difference, once i lowered the fuel level to 17mm it was fine.

  3. Carb Exchange generally do a pretty good job and a full recon and for not as many notes as you would think.

  4. Cheers guys. Its running lean on tick over but rich under revs. Gonna give her a compression and wotnot one last time. Check out CO2 one more time before biting the bullet.

  5. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

First - throttle stops - people set tickover with them, once done the screws on the top are useless.
Second - choke and fast cam - set up so both come off! One holds the other open.
Most important - spindle wear - if the spindles are worn, you'll struggle to get up to speed.
Another - All 3 cut-off valves must work to set the carbs up.
Again - the cut-off valves are the idle jets - unscrew, clean and blow through the hole they were in as well as the jets.
And more - there are screws in the carb bases for idle mixture - 2 1/2 turns out to start.
