Quick question...i need to buy a trolley jack, have found one which is max weight 2 tones... Would this be ok to lift a Devon bay? Would be thankful for any thoughts please? Will just be to carry in the van for a wheel change if needed.
for just changing a wheel whats wrong with standard jack, even loaded with gear will be fine unless jacking points are cream crackered. for working under 3 ton and stands will save serious headaches
This is the one.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/MOVING-PART...8&qid=1377554099&sr=8-6&keywords=Trolley jack
Ah, well one of the jacking points is twisted and a don't want to risk the others... So thought this maybe a good idea and may come in handy. I don't have a jack anyway so need to get something.
check how high the jack lifts in that case, you lift quite alot just to get the wheel off the ground...
bottle jack is the way forward i have that jack and the amount it moves side ways is scary and the wheels are to small and dig in to the road and you need a big block of wood because it isn't tall enough
Dude halfords do a high lift 4x4 jack Keep an eye online on them as every now and then they do a special offer and you can pick them up for £40 - £50 if memory serves me correct There a good jack for the money i own one myself There not the sort of jack to carry with you though
machine mart are doing a pretty decent low entry/high lift jack at the moment, think i picked it up for 47 quid, and its done me fine. comes with a built in breaker bar and wheel nut sockets too which was a bonus..
Agree - I have one too - has been more than up to the task for me. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_898881_langId_-1_categoryId_255207
