Just got a puppy and when we start going out in the bus was wondering the best way of transporting her? at the moment we use a crate in the car but what do others do in their buses?
We have a car harness that clips to a second part, that wraps around the middle seat belt in the cars (seat belt connected). In the van I am wrapping the second piece around the lap belt that one of the kids is using. Not ideal, but will stop the dog hurtling around the van
we take 2 dogs, millie the lab sits in the back on the floor, poppy the yorkie usually sits on the cubby box between us or sometimes on the floor too, we take a travel cage for poppy when we are camped incase we leave her while we go to the shop or summat as she can't be trusted alone.... millie is ok she just lies anywhere.
Our 2 springers go over the engine and spend most of the time asleep or looking out the back window. I use to be a bit paranoid and made up a mesh barrier to stop them flying forward hitting us if we had crash but came to the concision that if a front end crash was that bad the dogs would be the least of our worries.
One of ours is happy to sit on the back seat with a harness connected to the seatbelt but our collie x lies in the passengers footwell. Not ideal but we've tried everything to keep her in the back. She's eaten the seatbelt before, trashed dog guards and generally struggles like crazy as she's scared stiff of lorries (or shadows of trees).
