  1. Hello

I did a search and could not see any new tracker threads,Are there any decent trackers and standalone SIM cards about?

    cheers

  2. I have seen people using the old kindles with the free internet SIM cards in them not quite sure how it would work though?

  3. If you have a 3G kindle that doesn't work, rip the SIM card out of it.

You'd need to find out the telephone number somehow though. Maybe by putting it into a phone.

  4. I had a tracker still in its box but can't find it.

  5. Buy a cheapo iPhone 5c with a cracked screen off your local Facebook selling page £20

Order a free giff gaff sim, set up a new iTunes account and register your phone with the find my mobile & find my friends apps included on the iPhone & stick a fiver top up on the sim!

Cheapo tracker with live tracking straight to your own iPhone you can even set a geo fence once parked up & you get notified if it moves!

Fit a hidden usb socket that runs off the ignition feed to keep iPhone charged & then hide it in your van somewhere!

Please note this only works if you are already using an iPhone as a personal phone & unsure if any of this is useful if your an android peep!

  9. which trackers does it work with? is it just one or all gprs/gps trackers

  10. If memory serves me correctly It works with the tk-102 and tk-103 at the moment although it can be extended to any sms based tracker. I just need a willing volunteer :)

I was going to look into the GPRS functionality eventually, that would need a different approach but should be easy enough

I've got a TK103a with an O2 sim. I have only linked up the GSM settings atthe moment as an 2003 Transit has a lot of wiring that I don't understand so I haven't wired in the GPS bit. The GSM bit works well - I ring the mobile number of the sim and I get a text with the location and current speed of the vehicle. It cost me £20 for the tracker and £10 for the sim card with £10 of credit.

  14. In addition to my normal security I'm trying an old android phone with no sim in it, using the Lookout app and GPS to locate t.

I've turned as much as possible off to conserve battery life.

I know a few folks who use them , however they are limited

It's important to note the limits of the AirTag. It's not a true GPS tracker, as it relies on being within 30 feet of someone's iPhone to deliver its location to the network.

So out in a barn etc it may not be tracked
