Track day experience

  1. I took my daughter on a track day. It was pretty rubbish to be honest.

I think a 4x4 day would be good. I know there are multi activity days out there, bit of 4x4 driving, bit of on land hover crafting, bit of clay pigeon shooting, I bet that would be great fun.

  8. 1of my mates has done loads of track days and always recomends you go to Mecerdes Benz World near Brooklands. Any track days i,ve done you only ever get a few laps in a super car and they are very protective of their motors. At Mercedes they just wanna show you how good their cars are, my mate spent an afternoon on the skid pan in a cl500 being told to go faster and faster by the instructor, if it blows up they just roll another 1 out. You can drive a Mclaren Mercedes there as well. Highly recomended for a choice of driving days out.

  9. I do them on bikes. I use my 916 and its absolutely ace. I love it. You can use Ron Haslams race school and they will hire you a CBR600 and give you some tips etc. I started with this and recommend it. Now i joined a club and do several a year.

Although not everyone will like to do a bike track day...

  11. I bought my wife the caterham full day package the other year, at silverstone, she enjoyed it as it was a training day rather than a couple of laps. Quite expensive though

If you can find a rally driving experience, I'd highly recommend that.
I was given a weekend one a couple of years ago & it was a total blast.
Like Bootsam I've done track days for bikes, the last one scared me a bit as I was hitting over 200KpH as I went into the braking zone for the corner at the end of the straight & I decided my ambitions didn't quite match my ability. Parked the bike up & had a coffee. That was on a Ducati 1198, I'd never ridden anything with that amount of power before. :-

  13. I'll let you know in march which I do for them, ;)
