Hi, I have not had use of my bus or been to any shows for over a year due to my bus being off the road for its resto. Now that I should be finished in a month or 2 I am starting to consider how to make up for lost time in 2013 and planning my time to book off work. So far I am considering Elemental and Whitenoise for VW shows, Lattitude for a festival and a week or 2 in northern France around St Malo, Caen and the Normandy beaches. What about you? Where are you planning to go? Any recommendations from where you have been previously? Any 'must sees'?
I always do Volksworld as a season opener. Normandy is fantastic I'm addicted to the D day museums Usually go 3 or 4 times through the summer sometimes in the bus but my mate has big house right near Utah Beach so stay there a lot.. There's lots of good camping. Also enjoyed Busfest this year so probably do it again. Planning a Devon Cornwall trip for this summer.
We are doing Brittany for the 4 th year .if you have bikes make sure you take them as you get to see a lot more .we are going overnight via Portsmouth ,st Malo as you get of the ferry 1 st thing in the morning
Camperjam seems to get lots of votes, will have to check it out further. Seems like France is a must. Isn't the ferry to St Malo expensive though? I have friends on Jersey, does it stop there on the way so we could spend a day or 2 there on the way? Other than St Malo and Normandy beaches any other special places to visit?
First season out so no recommendations I'm afraid. Occasional weekend away with family. Days out for picnics etc. Some overnighters with the son's re-enactment group. Hopefully a vW show and/or Tekenders so I can learn and meet some of gang !
Spring camp Camperjam - maybe??? Trip to Northumberland taking in Mighty Dub Fest Lots of short breaks Hoping to have a good few meet ups with TLB folks through the year, some official type ones, some just arranged between friends we've met over the last 12 months. I like the idea of doing maybe a jazz festival or something a bit different so looking out for something like that. My Mum turns 80 in July and we are planning some kind of glamping event Maybe a trip to Ireland if we can fit it in , but earlier than September when we went last year. Tatton BBQ in December. Another year over ....
erm I think I'll be starting the year off pretty early in the van... techenders I'll be trying, spring camp maybe, Camperjam Might try some other local bigger shows as I've only ever been camperjam... but mainly tlb meets as I love them...and possibly somewhere with me n the dogs n paul.... depends on money I guess and getting days off work (saturdays)
no idea yet, deffo both tekenders and somewhere for may/oct mine and lu's birthday, a week in skeggy to hopefully tie in with skeg vegas would be nice, camperjam is not on my list unless i get free/cheap last minute tickets as i'm still cross, weekends with my mates off here too i hope it depends on finances.
