Pre crash we had a great list of spares and tools you should be carrying with you. So here we go again.

I'm particularly interested in which spanner sizes you should carry.

Please just post your additions and we'll compile a list at the end.

Sockets and spanners in all sizes below:-

    7mm
    8mm
    10mm
    13mm
    17mm
    19mm

    Flat head screw driver
    Cross head screw driver
    Small mole grips
    Large mole grips
    Wheel brace/socket and bar
    Spark plug socket

Is there any need for 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19mm (and so on) spanners/sockets? I can't remember all the sizes off the top of my head.

  3. I have a tool kit which has all of the sockets, spanners and drivers required in a handy little carry case. Add to that a pair of plumbers grips, feeler gauges and standard jack. I never leave home without a box of surgical gloves too, but that's another story...

    Job done

I would defo carry an 11, 17 and 19mm. Might be my French car days that tell me to but they are useful sizes. Plus an adjustable spanner.

19mm for shock bolts for one. 17mm for engine bolts.
