I still get heat coming through the dash vents despite moving the lever to close the pods. There is less heat when the lever is moved to the closed position, but it's still hot! The cables are intact and the pods spring closed. Is there a seal or similar in the pods that can be replaced, or is constant heat the norm?
I suppose I shouldn't complain as I wanted a working heating system, but it does get a bit warm in the cab when in stationary traffic when the sun is shining !
the rental we had last year blew hot all the time - only fix was to open the window and block the vents off. winnie on the other hand - yep, you guessed it - not really any heat to speak of.. its on the list to sort out lol.
I have the same happening with mine but certainly not hot when closed just a bit warm .....pods are fully closed and cables slack so must be shut . The only thing i can think of is maybe the rubber ring bit on the pods are slightly worn .....maybe if you glue another ring on top of the old one it might seal better , or do they all leak a bit when turned off ....i don't know ? just fitted all my system up , be nice to know .
I found a solution when I dropped mine on its lever while I was welding up a split in the outside . The drop whacked the lever and then the exchanger would not shut off the hot air any more.: If you grab the lever on the side of the heat exchanger and carefully and progressively pull harder a few cm in the closed direction away from the cable pull direction , eventually something bends inside , and the flap will shut properly with the cable slack.
