This happens every year at this time. The car park is full. The changing room is heaving. A lot of nice new trainers are on display.

The regular members have to wait to get on equipment. As the month progresses the new members wane.

It's great that they start off on a new regime, but a bit sad how little time it lasts.

So, if you are going to go out and join a gym - Get Your Money's Worth :)

  2. We've been going to a new gym for the last 2 months, this evening we have 2 classes and a weights routine to get through. I'm not looking forward to it at all as i know it's going to be packed!

Must point out this is not a fad for us, we're that dedicated we even went on Boxing Day, the instructor for our spin class clearly had a hangover so decided to be really tough saying it was our fault for going to the gym today lol

The gym is open 24/7 including Christmas Day, apparently a few people were in - that's going a little far

I'll get the same later when I go swimming, the 1 length athletes will be out in force, but the new year resolutioners honeymoon usually only lasts about 2 weeks, the Olympics created a similar phenomenon with people being 'inspired'

I'm hoping this years new recruits will include (usually does) some sexy ladies in bikinis :)

I noticed this morning the pavements are packed with 30-something red-faced jogging ladies running slower than walking pace. Hats off to them for at least giving it a go. :)

The New Year fitness craze keeps Ms.T busy at A&E. There is a sudden increase in heart attacks, sprains, muscle tears etc etc. This is on top of the Xmas present injuries, broken arms, legs, fractured skulls caused from falling off Xmas bikes, skateboards & over indulging in alcoholic beverages.

  7. Gives you something new to gaze at for a while ay bern ;D

I've been going to the same gym for 15 years. Every new year I see people that I've known there since the early days who don't go anymore. Fair play to them for giving it another go. Just keep out of my way
